    Membership Questions
    1. Why join TRIbe?
Assuming that you've made a decision to join a tri-club and your decision is now "which one", then this becomes a matter of subjective preference. There are many great clubs in the greater Bay Area, all of which are different in their outlooks, missions, values and personality. TRIbe is not the largest club (around 100 members) nor do we set out to be. We don't have any kind of recruitment activity or goals, but we do however set out to be the best performing club. We regularly beat out much larger clubs in point finishes, not only at local races, but at regional meets such as Wildflower. This competitiveness is shared throughout the club and we require all members to race at least twice and volunteer once.

    2. So, does this mean that you're elitist?
Not in the slightest. We're focused on performance and participation and the DESIRE to improve. We welcome all abilities as long as they're making the dedication to triathlon and the will to improve. Most of our budget goes back into performance improvement initiatives for our members such as track and free clinics

    3. So, what's this about the pro program?
We're dedicated and passionate about our sport and want Americans to remain in preeminence. Young pros need help in getting to races, we feel that we should give back to our sport and so we budget $3000 annually to help 3 young pros

    4. When do you meet?
We have a membership meeting the second Monday of every month Jan-Oct in Campbell (usually) this is always posted on our website. We have track practice every Tuesday at De Anza college professionally coached which starts at 6:15pm and we have informal rides/runs and races that are published on the forum section of our website. Throughout the year we have 4 organized social events and 4 organized clinics all of which are normally free to members

    5. Will I be able to keep up?
In the early season, most groups have a no drop policy while people figure out who they should be riding/running with. On the track there's all abilities and you could never be more than 200yds behind the first person

    6. Do you get retail discounts?
Of course, but that's not why we want people to join. We have many great deals through our sponsors and we also have periodic "TRIbe only" promos at retail stores where we get 30-50% discount for one day only. You'll need a valid membership card

    7. What is TRIbe's relationship with other local clubs?
We have a great relationship with other local clubs including SVTC, GGTC, SF Tri Club and SCTC and compete against them on an annual basis for bragging rights. In fact many members move between clubs over their lifetime as a Bay Area triathlete. For example, we find many ex-SVTC members in Tribe and vice versa. We support any tri club and encourage you to check out one of their club meetings before joining TRIbe to ascertain the differences between the various clubs.

    8. I live in the [North Bay, East Bay, San Francsico, etc]. Should I join TRIbe?
Most TRIbe members live in and around the South Bay including a few in the south county area (Morgan Hill, Gilroy, etc) and others up in the Peninsula. While you are more than welcome to join TRIbe no matter where you live, we suggest you join a club close to home. There are many thoughout the bay area. You should be able to find a club close to home by searching this
      list.
    Misc. Questions
    1. Can I post something on the TRIbe website?
General announcments that are of interest to the TRIbe community are displayed on the
announcements page. If you would like to submit something to this page, please post it here. Pending approval, it should be displayed within a day or two.

    2. Why am I still getting email at my old email address after I have updated my My.Tribe email address?
The TRIbe mailing list is outsourced through
Yahoo! Groups. Updating your My.TRIbe information will not update your "mailing list" email address. To edit your mailing list information, go to the join page.If you have trouble, please contact the webmaster for help.

    3. Can I add a link to the website?
TRIbe's website is very self-service. If you think you have a link that fellow triathletes should see, please add it
here. Upon approval, it will be added to the TRIbe website.
